Once again, I was pleased to se my mos recent post listed as a “Featured Thread” on the Friendly Metal Detecting Forum. There hasn’t been a lot of interaction with the post on that forum, but it’s great to see the publishers recognize greatness …

It’s so awesome to make the Friendly Metal Detecting Forum‘s version of the “site banner.” This time it’s my story about that big honkin’ gold ring. It’s been passed over for banner at TreasureNet, but the fine folks at the FMDF saw something special in my post.
And I tip my brown, trademark, “WC” hat to them …
Here’s a screen capture from the site:
Just made it into the top spot on the “Featured Threads” on the Friendly Metal Detecting Forum! Pretty Kewl!
Someone on one of the forums I frequent recommended that I send in the story of my 1805 Draped Bust Dime to White’s Electronics (the manufacturer of my White’s MXT Detector). It seems that they use such stories sometimes on their web site and in their print publications.
Well … I submitted my story to White’s early this morning, and I already got a response back! The advertising “executive” informed me that they would definitely use my story and pictures on their web site, with the possibility that it might be in print, as well.
In return, White’s is mailing me a gift “reward” and a $100 certificate toward free White’s equipment.
Pretty cool … This little dime just keeps on givin’!
I was greatly honored today to be nominated and selected for a “Banner Find” on TreasureNet Forum. What does that mean? Extraordinarily rare, special, “mind-blowing” finds are added to the banner string across the top of the site, with a direct link to the treasure finder’s post.
My find, a rare 1805 Draped Bust Dime, was declared as a “banner” late this evening. I am excited!!
Here’s the banner … I captured it from the site. That’s my dime on the far left.

Please take a moment to visit the site and view my post here.
Thanks for looking!
